Multi-Net Systems Contributing to Major HVAC Installation at University of Mpumalanga

NEWS & BLOG

Multi-Net Systems is proud to be part of the esteemed contracting team delivering a comprehensive HVAC solution across multiple buildings at the University of Mpumalanga (UMP), Mbombela Campus. This project, encompassing various critical areas within the campus, represents one of the most ambitious and technically challenging undertakings in our portfolio.

Project Scope and Highlights:

The HVAC installation at UMP spans several key buildings, including the Nature Conservation Building, Law Building, Great Hall, Infrastructure and Operations Building Phase B, and the Southern Gate House. Each facility is being equipped with state-of-the-art HVAC systems designed to provide optimal climate control, crucial for both academic and operational excellence.

  • Large Chiller Plants: Central to this project are the large chiller plants being installed. These plants are engineered to handle significant cooling loads, ensuring efficient and reliable cooling across the expansive university infrastructure. The chiller plants are crucial for maintaining a comfortable and conducive environment for students, staff, and visitors.
  • Infrastructure and Operations Building Phase B: This phase involves the deployment of sophisticated HVAC systems featuring VRF (Variable Refrigerant Flow) technology, allowing precise temperature control across diverse spaces such as offices, seminar rooms, and workshops. Fresh air supply and extraction systems are also being installed to maintain optimal air quality and comfort.
  • Nature Conservation and Law Buildings: These buildings will feature advanced HVAC solutions, including large-capacity air handling units and ducted systems. The HVAC infrastructure is designed to meet the specific environmental needs of lecture halls, research laboratories, and multi-purpose rooms, ensuring a supportive environment for learning and research.
  • Great Hall and Southern Gate House: The HVAC systems for these facilities are tailored to accommodate large gatherings and high-traffic areas. This includes high-efficiency air conditioning units and extensive ducting systems to provide robust and reliable climate control throughout these spaces.

 Scale and Complexity:

This project is distinguished by its scale and technical complexity, involving multiple buildings with bespoke HVAC requirements. The installation of large chiller plants and advanced HVAC technologies showcases our capability to manage and execute large-scale projects with precision, ensuring seamless integration across all facilities.

Sustainability and Innovation:

In line with UMP’s sustainability goals, the HVAC systems being installed are designed to maximise energy efficiency and minimise environmental impact. By leveraging the latest HVAC technologies, including VRF systems and energy-efficient chillers, we are contributing to a future-proof infrastructure for the university.

At Multi-Net Systems, we are honored to contribute to this significant project at the University of Mpumalanga. Our involvement emphasises our expertise in delivering high-quality, large-scale HVAC installations that meet the evolving needs of modern educational institutions.
