“A society that does not value its older people denies its roots and endangers its future. Let us strive to enhance their capacity to support themselves for as long as possible and, when they cannot do so anymore, to care for them.” — Nelson Mandela

In the spirit of Mandela Day, Multi-Net Systems staff donated their 67 minutes to the Margaretha Ackerman old age home in Pretoria West. The home has 50 staff members and 174 residents, most of who rely solely on SASSA as an income.
Multi-Net Systems hosted a High Tea in honour of the residents and staff. The day comprised of enjoying scrumptious baked goods, tasty snacks, exciting lucky draws and live entertainment by Caroline Bosch, who serenaded us with her famous song “Bietjie Oupa, Stukkie Ouma”.

Multi-Net staff enjoyed the rest of the afternoon listening to the residents reminisce about their younger days, families and even sharing in a few funny stories.
Thank you to all the residence and staff at Margaretha Ackerman for making us feel so welcome and sharing your wisdom!

A special thank you to Multi-Net Systems staff members, AMA Productions, Sue’s Biltong and Braai, Jeh Deli, Café Royal and Da Vinci’s Pub and Grill for all their donations, without you the day would not have been such a great success.
